Albert Knak, 84, passed away peacefully January 31, 2014. Albert was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Betty, who passed away in 2011.
Albert was born on September 5, 1929, in Milwaukee, the youngest of 12 siblings. His surviving siblings are Beatrice Skonecki of Ohio and Shirley Piwonski of Wisconsin. Albert proudly served in the U.S.
Army as a staff sergeant with the 54th Eng. Main. Co., and was stationed in Sendai, Japan, in 1948. Albert married Betty Pfeil in 1950 and raised their three sons, Dwight (Lynn) of Waukesha, David (Kathy) of Tucson, Ariz., and Dannie (Susan) of Glendale, Ariz.
The family resided in Waukesha for 20 years. In 1973, Albert and Betty moved to Amherst and opened up Al and Bett’s Sports Bar. In 1977, they moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., where they spent their retirement.
The Knak’s had five grandchildren, Jenna (Tony) Allen, Devin, Ryan, Ashley and Erinn. They were also blessed with a great-grandchild, Kaiden Allen.
