Evelyn M. “Blondie” Mitchell, formerly of Hartland and Pewaukee, passed away peacefully at Shorehaven on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Waukesha on Oct. 9, 1926, and graduated from Hartland High School.
Following high school she and her husband, Jerry Delsman, owned and operated Delsman Mink Ranch.
In 1967, she married Duke Mitchell of Pewaukee and together they ran Duke’s House of Prime. In 1977 they retired in Rhinelander. Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Glen Reich) Janke; her son Michael (Wendie) Mitchell; stepchildren Daniel (Doris) Mitchell, Debby (John) Stark and Kelly (Threse) Mitchell; and her grandchildren Kim (Kerry) Landers, Jill (Peter) Purvis, Jody (Dan) Davies, Melissa (Kurt) Kimball, Melanie (Todd) Rawson, Mimi (Joe) Ziemann, Michael (Andria) Mitchell and Matthew (Jennifer) Mitchell. She is further survived by 16 great-grandchildren, three sisters, one brother and her significant other, Stan Soukup. She was preceded in death by her son Dennis Delsman; her husband, Duke; three sisters and one brother.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland.
Friends may call at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Charles Food Pantry or Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection appreciated.
