WAUKESHA

Wendy T. Corgiat (nee Knapik)

March 4, 1959 – Feb. 2, 2014

Wendy T. Corgiat (nee Knapik) silently slipped away to join God in the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, February 2, 2014, at the age of 54. She joined her brother Randy and niece Emmy, who went to heaven before her.

She was the beloved wife of Rick; loving mother of Shaunna; daughter of Dawn Knapik; and sister of Gregg and Marilee (Kurt) Knapik-Christensen. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

Wendy will always be remembered for her willingness to help others. Wendy often put her own comfort aside to provide a meal or a warm place to stay. She was a caretaker of both people and animals alike. She gave to animal welfare charities as well as food pantries for those less fortunate. She really enjoyed being with the Waukesha North Marching Band. She was a “band mom.” Wendy really enjoyed long conversations with family and friends. Wendy will be sorely missed by all who knew her – her smile, her laugh and her unending love for everyone in her life.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Froedtert Hospital for their compassion and care.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, from 4 PM until the time of a service at 7 PM at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road (at highways J and JJ, four blocks south of Interstate 94), Waukesha. Entombment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Saturday, February 15, at 11 AM. A memorial tribute slide show will be shown at the visitation and service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be presented to the American Cancer Society by the family.
