Bruce C. Brown

Sept. 11, 1926 – Feb. 18, 2014

Bruce Connor Brown, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Aged 87, he was a dedicated resident of Oconomowoc. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Joan (nee Pritzlaff); sons Brad Brown and Carter (Suzie) Brown; daughters Gayle (Elias) Brown Moser and Jennifer (Martyn) Fisher, grandchildren Louis and Rose Moser, Rebecca and Abigail Brown, Caylen and Erin Moore, Madison and Kimberly Brown, and Agnes, Maude, Eleanor and Gene Fisher, and his sister, Nancy (James) Johnson.

He was predeceased by his daughter Kimberly Moore and his brother, Bart Brown.

Bruce was passionate about Lac La Belle, sailing, Rotary, the YMCA, former president of National Newspaper Association (NNA) and above all his family and friends!

Bruce was born September 11, 1926, in Fargo, N.D. He moved to Oconomowoc in 1936 when his father C.W. bought the Enterprise. He shared his father’s belief that a town was not a town unless it had a post office, a bank and a newspaper. He and his brother Bart became involved in the newspaper at a young age by helping to deliver newspapers and sweep floors. Bruce was the owner, publisher and remained involved with the Enterprise even after his retirement in 1991.

Funeral services for Bruce will held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. with a visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. for family and friends, all to be held at First Congregational UCC, 815 S. Concord Road, Oconomowoc.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Oconomowoc Area Foundation, the Oconomowoc Free Clinic or the Scholarship Fund.

Pagenkopf Funeral Home is serving the family. For more information, call 567-4457 or visit www.pagenkopf.com.
