Robert ‘Bob’ S. Shelstad
Robert “Bob” S. Shelstad of Waukesha died on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Avalon Square at the age of 91. Bob proudly served in World War II for the U.S. Marines. He went on to school in Dayton, Ohio, representing the National Cash Register Company. After many years in the industry, he eventually owned his own company, Modern Cash Register. His wife always said, “If it were possible, Bob would keep Christmas around 24/7.” He also loved traveling, cruising and was an avid Badgers fan. More than anything, he was most happy surrounded by his family.
Bob will be deeply missed by his daughter, Diane (Mark) Szajna of Big Bend, Thomas of Waukesha and Jim DC (Colleen) of Cedarburg; grandchildren, Jana (Jeff), Christi (Stephen), Katy (John), Christopher and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Ryan; brother, Richard of Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marion (Peters), and beautiful granddaughter Courtney Ann.
The memorial service for Bob will be held on Thursday, March 6, at 3:00 p.m. at Avalon Square, 222 Park Place, Waukesha, WI 53186. Chaplain Linda Loving will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, 620 S. 76th St., Suite 160, Milwaukee, WI 53214; or to the ARDS Foundation, 3330 Dundee Road, Suite C4, Northbrook, IL 60062.
