Gertrude O. Guenther

March 20, 1927 – Dec. 31, 2013

Gertrude O. Guenther, 86, of Ashippun, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She was born March 20, 1927, in the Town of Menomonee Falls, daughter of the late Hubert and Mary (nee Rach) Vogt.

On March 2, 1946, she married Roy C. Guenther.

They farmed in Menomonee Falls, Hartford and Ashippun. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church-Toland. She loved playing cards with her family and with her many friends and card clubs. She also loved cardinals, mowing lawn on her John Deere and gardening.

Gertrude is survived by sons Richard (Mary), William (Christine), Gary (Deborah), Roy Jr. “Hans” (Beth), Gene (Judith) and Robert (Therese); two daughters, Linda (Charles) Kiupelis and Susan (William) Tietz; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hildegarde (the late Ken) Rolfs; one brother-in-law, Herbert (Marilyn) Guenther; and three sisters-in-law, Laverne Vogt, Ardene Vogt and Priscilla Guenther. She was also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Albert, Raymond, George, Robert and Hubert; two sisters, Marguerite (Carl) Marrow and Marion (Ray) Pfeil; and one nephew, Mike Vogt.

The family wishes to thank AngelsGrace Hospice for the wonderful care given to Gertrude.

Visitation and services were Friday, Jan. 3, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, W653 Roosevelt Road, Rubicon.
