Patricia ‘Patty’ J. Gauthier
Feb. 9, 1930 – Jan. 7, 2014
Patricia “Patty” J. Gauthier of New Berlin was born to eternal life unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. She was born in Winona, Minn., on Feb. 9, 1930, the daughter of Paul and Pelagia (nee Prondzinski) Repinski.
On May 21, 1955, she married Durward Gauthier and together they celebrated almost 59 years together. Patricia was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, the Ministry of Praise and co-founder of the funeral luncheon program. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader when her daughter was young. Patricia was an excellent cook and derived great joy from preparing and hosting lavish meals for her family and friends. She loved dogs, and they equally loved her in return. Patricia’s greatest joy was her family and friends, who meant the world to her. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Durward Gauthier of New Berlin, and their children, Mary (Stephen) Frankel of Mequon, Jeffrey (Beth) Gauthier of Lake Zurich, Ill., Christopher (Joanne) Gauthier of Verona and Mark (Catherine) Gauthier of Stoughton. She was the dear grandmother of Allison and Paige Gauthier, Oliver, Peter, Scarlett and Jack Gauthier and Nicholas and Delaney Gauthier. She is further survived by her brother, Roy Repinski of New Berlin; a sister, Pauline (Ronald) Milnarik of Chicago; her sister in-law, Dorothy Gauthier; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Drews, and her parents.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Kevin Barnekow will preside. A private family burial will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Durward and Patricia Gauthier Scholarship Fund at Catholic Memorial High School, 601 E. College Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186.
