Dave Quick of Oconomowoc died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Borup, Minn., the son of late G. Emil and Martha (Mickleson) Quick. Dave married Evelyn Nall of Spencer on April 23, 1960.

They were married for 53 years. Dave was a graduate of the Felton, Minn., high school in 1953.

He graduated in 1957 from North Dakota State University with a bachelorís degree in engineering.

He earned his masterís degree in 1963 from University of Minnesota.

Dave served in the U.S. Army reserves for six years.

He worked at Baker Manufacturing in Evansville, Allis Chalmers in West Allis and Sundstrand in Rockford, Ill.

Dave retired from Sundstrand in 1998 and moved to Watertown. He enjoyed his hobby farm and restoring a 1935 Allis Chalmers tractor and 1930 Ford Model A.

Dave had a strong faith in God and love for the Bible.

The support of friends and family has helped us through these times.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; son, Alan (Cathy) Quick of Dousman; daughters, Becky (Dave) Pedigo of Ripon and Karleen (Tom) Bernklau of Sussex; 11 grandchildren; and many wonderful relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant granddaughter and five brothers.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. funeral service Friday, Jan. 17, at the Krause Funeral Home, 21500 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Private burial will be at Ottawa Cemetery.
