Frederic E. Marohn, 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Golden Living Center, Watertown. Frederic was born on September 5, 1934, in Hartford, to the Rev. Frederic and Emily (Zietlow) Marohn.

Frederic grew up in Hustisford and Birnamwood. He graduated from Birnamwood High School in Birnamwood in 1952. After high school, he attended Concordia College in Milwaukee. Frederic worked at Continental Bakery for eight years, at Farmerís Exchange for nine years and at Brownberry Ovens for more than 25 years. He retired in 1999.

Frederic lettered in football and in baseball as a high school student. Frederic enjoyed watching baseball and football games. He also loved to work in his yard and just being outside. He has been a member of St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc, for nearly 50 years. He served the church as an elder. He touched many lives with his humor bringing both smiles and laughs from those he met.

Frederic married Marilyn in 1956 in Berlin. They were happily married for 58 years. Frederic was a loving husband and father.

Frederic is survived by his wife, Marilyn A. Marohn of Oconomowoc; his daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Gerou of Mount Pleasant; and his son, Frederic A. Marohn of Milwaukee. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, the Rev. Robert Koch of Antioch, Calif., as well a niece, nephews, and other family and friends.

Frederic was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margaret Koch; his inlaws Arthur and Edna Moldenhauer; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rev. Erwin (Margaret) Moldenhauer.

The visitation will be held at St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 Pleasant Street, Oconomowoc, on Sunday, June 29, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The celebration of life will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Lance OíDonnell and Rev. Paul Borgman officiating. A reception will take place following the service. Interment will take place on Monday, June 30, at Bush Cemetery, Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Paulís Lutheran Church New Organ Fund.

Fredericís family would like to thank the staff of the Golden Living Center-Memory Care Unit of Watertown for their loving care during the last year and a half of Fredericís life. The family would also like to thank the pastors, vicar and elders of St Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church for their spiritual guidance and compassion.
