Howard ‘Duke’ Granger

Howard ‘Duke’ Granger Howard “Duke” Granger, 82, of Sun City West, Ariz., passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was born in Kenosha on December 13, 1931, to the late Howard Granger and Agnes. Duke graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1950 and received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1954. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army, stationed in Panama during the Korean War.

Upon his discharge from the Army, Duke began his career at General Motors in the marketing department, a career that also had stops as president of Burton Klemp Corp., a Kenosha-based manufacturer, and later sales manager of Alloy Products of Waukesha, where he raised his family. He retired to Sun City West, Ariz., in 1999.

Duke was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma while attending UW-Madison. He was an active member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Waukesha and Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West.

Duke is survived by his sister, Betty (Granger) Mueller of Brookfield; brother, Jim Granger of Madison; and his four children, Patti Granger of Milwaukee, Andy Granger, of Simsbury, Conn., Linda (Granger) Stanek of West Bend and Dan Granger of Mesa, Ariz. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

A small memorial service will be held at All Saints Mausoleum, Pleasant Prairie, at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 19, with a luncheon immediately following.
