Alfred Schiffer of Waukesha on August 29, 1928, to July 13, 2014, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side.
He married his wife Rosel on October 10, 1955, in Germany. He came to the United States in 1958 and settled in Waukesha. He was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a civil engineer in May of 1958, retired 1993 but continued part time until he fully retired in 2004. He will be deeply missed by his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife Rosel; his children Angie Johnson, Lotte (Joe) Martello, Joachim (Maria) Schiffer and Tina (Brian) Henriksen; his grandchildren Danielle (Eric) Williams, Christina Martello, Katy Martello, Matthew Schiffer, Michael Schiffer, Tommy Schiffer, Holly Henriksen and Owen Henriksen; and great-granddaughter Teonna Williams. He is further survived by his sisters Luise Massing in Germany and Marianne Rault of France. He is also survived by other relatives and friends in France and Germany.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
