Martin J. ‘Marty’ Leonard

Aug. 23, 1954 — July 27, 2014

Martin J. “Marty” Leonard found eternal peace on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Marty’s passionate and loving spirit is carried on by his wife, Carol, and children Shane, Katie, and Bryan. Never settling for anything but the best, always hatching a plan, he left us with a wealth of inside jokes, timeless life lessons, and several sets of handmade golf clubs. He demonstrated that hard work accepts no substitutes, but gave equally important last words of advice: “Be happy.”

In 1993, Marty and his lifetime friend, Barry Scott, co-founded Prime Label and Screen printing company. Through ambitious and ethical leadership, they painstakingly nurtured the business’ success until retiring in September 2013.

Marty’s father, Ed; siblings Eddie, Peg, Carol, Pat and Tim; and innumerable friends and extended family will remember his penchant for both problem-solving and mischief-making. He looked out for others and lived with a sense of purpose, always seeking to improve his corner of the world. He avoided sugary food but enjoyed the sweet pastimes of boating, golfing and laughing along to Chevy Chase comedies with his family.
