Archie C. DaleyArchie C. Daley, 85, of Watertown, passed away on July 26, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.

Archie was born on December 10, 1928, the son of Ambrose and Margaret (Moldenhauer) Daley, in Alderly. He attended Oconomowoc High School before serving in the U.S. Army. After serving, Archie attended MSOE. He married the love of his life, Virginia Kollath, on December 20, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Archie and Virginia shared 66 1/2 years of marriage together. He enjoyed spending time at his home with his family surrounded by nature. He and Virginia shared two memorable trips to Alaska together, as well as other trips over the years. Archie was an avid Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan.

Archie owned and operated Daley Painting in Watertown for 60 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and served on the Trustee Committee as well as other church committees. His faith and family were very important to him.

Archie is survived by his wife, Virginia of Watertown; a son, Richard (Chris) Daley of Watertown; two daughters, Susan (Curt Braunschweig) Sullivan of Lake Mills and Katherine (James) Baum of Johnson Creek; six grandchildren, Nicole (Bob) Smith, Jennifer (Brad) Lemke, Benny Alba Jr., Joshua Fuchs, Nathan (Angela) Baum and Amanda (James) Baneck; eight great-grandchildren, Noelle and Nolan Seamandel, Oliver Smith, Mason and Chloe Baneck, Thomas and Jameson Baum, and Quienten Eckert; aunt Ruth Monis of Oconomowoc; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was the last member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Byron “Bud” Daley and Gerald Daley in infancy; a stepbrother, Andy Kittleson; a son-in-law, James Sullivan; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Bridget Daley; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Moldenhauer.

The family would like to thank Watertown Family Practice, Dr. Eastman and Rainbow Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held today, July 31, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
