Gerald R. Piper

April 10, 1937– May 25, 2014

Gerald Roy Piper, formerly of Eagle, passed away on May 25, 2014, at his home in Arizona. Born to Roy and Kathryn Piper, he grew up on the family farm in the Eagle-North Prairie area and joined the U.S. Marine Corps after high school.

Jerry received a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Montana State University and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California. He worked for Rockwell International and Boeing Corporation for 29 years.

After retirement, he liked working in his yard, watching the cactus blooming and the hummingbirds at the feeders. He constantly worked at improving his golf game and took real pleasure in learning photography at the Photo Club.

Jerry will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Nola; son, Roy, of Napa, Calif., and sisters Nancy Swan of Mukwonago and Mary (Mike) Marconi of Waukesha. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine, and his sister Pat (Greg) Piette.

Private burial pending.
