Andrew R. Stenson

Andrew Robert Stenson ďAndy,Ē age 95 of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Louise, and his children Richard (Mae) Stenson, Robert (Kathy) Stenson, Roxanne Gerlach and Mark (Becky) Stenson, along with 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Winnie Stenson, and his four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Andy will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation for family and friends to begin at 9:00 a.m., all to be held at St. Paulís Lutheran Church (210 E. Pleasant St., Oconomowoc) with burial to follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. The Rev. Lance Armstrong OíDonnell will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paulís Lutheran Church or St. Paulís Lutheran School.

Andy was born in Rural in 1919 and lived most of his childhood in Oshkosh, where he graduated high school and college. He met the love of his life and married in 1943 to Louise Malotky. He began his career as a metallurgical chemist in Gary, Ind. He was then called to do his true passion and became a teacher of chemistry and math, first at Cambria High School and later at Greendale High School, where he taught for 35 years.

After he retired, Andy and Louise loved to travel to Europe and around the United States. They opened a second home in Florida to many family and friends from around the world. Andy had a strong Christian faith that impacted many generations. He always had an open heart and was a very loving and generous man who will be truly missed by his family and all that knew him.
