Madeline ‘Maggie’ Morris

Madeline “Maggie” Morris of Hartland passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 19, 2014, at the age of 69.

She was born in Summit to parents William and Edna Phillips. When Maggie was in eighth grade her parents passed away and she was raised by her sister, Lois (the late Pete) Alton. She attended Arrowhead High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Dave Morris. Upon graduation she attended the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in education. She worked as a teacher in Waukesha before leaving to raise her family. She returned to teaching and finished her career teaching fourth grade at St. Charles School in Hartland. After retiring, Maggie enjoyed spoiling her eight grandchildren, reading and spending time with family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, David; her daughters Kari (Jim) Renn of Hartland, Pamela (Zach) Tillman of Shorewood and Julie (Jeremy) Otte of Hartland and her grandchildren Brittany, Jordan and Joey Renn, Sam and Wyatt Tillman and Josh, Peter and Ben Otte. She is further survived by her loving sister, Lois Alton, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Final rest will be in St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family for the future education of Maggie’s grandchildren or to St. Charles School.
