Darvin D. Sjoberg, 80, of the Town of Concord, joined his wife in eternal peace June 23, 2014. Darv was born January 4, 1934, outside of Sisseton, S.D., the child of Arvin and Bertha Sjoberg. At the age of 6, he took his first job as a herder at various farms and ranches in this region, and he often talked about how uncomfortable the seat was on his split cavalry saddle.

His family moved to Oconomowoc in 1951 and he graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1952. While attending high school, he worked at the Waukesha Theater, where he met his lifelong love, Dorothy E. Zick. Darv and Dorothy were joined in marriage January 24, 1953, and celebrated 60 years of marriage. Dorothy passed January 29, 2013.

Darv spent eight years in the National Guard and became an accomplished welder. Darv moved through the ranks as a welder at Hein Werner in Waukesha and became the welding foreman. In May of 1965, Darv and Dorothy bought their family farm where they farmed until 1979. In 1979, Darv started a fabricating business, Quality Fabrication. In 1982, this business moved from the family farm to 550 Progress Drive in Hartland. Darv and Dorothy ran this business until their retirement in 1996. Darv in his early years loved hunting, fishing, and had a love for livestock, mainly horses and beef. In his later years, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life. Darv is survived by his children, Dawn (Tom) Dehnert and Dale (Lori) Sjoberg; grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Dehnert and Jenny (Brandon) Frentzel; great-grandchildren, Casandra Frentzel and Abigail Frentzel; sister, Irene (Roland) Habeck; brother, Roger (Elsa) Sjoberg; and sisters- in-law, Karen, Christine and Mary.
