Myron ‘Mike’ Wagner
June 25, 1922 – March 12, 2014
Myron “Mike” Wagner, 91, formerly of West Bend and Pewaukee, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Highlands at New Castle Place in Mequon.
He was born June 25, 1922, in the Town of Wayne to the late Arthur and Olga (nee Mochel) Wagner. He grew up in the Town of Wayne and graduated from Mayville High School. He married Josephine Bird on July 30, 1955, in Fond du Lac. Josephine passed away on July 2, 1999.
Myron earned a Master of Science degree in vocational education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1967. He began his teaching career at Moraine Park Technical School in West Bend and then transferred to Waukesha County Technical College where he taught for many years until his retirement.
He loved traveling and he and his wife wintered in Mesa, Ariz., for several years. He also enjoyed antique cars and playing cards, especially sheepshead.
He is survived by a daughter, Sally Carey of Lake Bluff, Ill.; two grandchildren, Lynn (Dean Grieves) Carey of Denver and Sarah (Michael) Cancel of Chula Vista, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Cristina Rowe and Tyler Cancel, both of California; a brother, Rodney (Shirley) Wagner of Allenton; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Joseph Wagner; and a sister, Presida Kempf.
A funeral service in remembrance of Myron will be held on Tuesday, March 18, at 11:30 a.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, and burial will follow in Theresa Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
