Gertrude ‘Trudy’ E. Hart

Gertrude “Trudy” E. Hart of Waukesha passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 94 years. She was born in West New York, N.J., on November 8, 1919, the daughter of Eugene and Martha (Jachens) Heinsius.
She was a graduate of Fort Lee High School in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Trudy was united in marriage to Samuel S. Hart on April 4, 1942. Trudy and Samuel made their home in Pearl River, N.Y., where she was employed for 19 years at Pearl River Hospital and later for 21 years as a school nurse with the Pearl River School District. Trudy had been a member of the Pearl River United Methodist Church before moving to Wisconsin. She enjoyed volunteering with the Interfaith Caregiving Network in their retired and senior RSVP Program and had attended senior classes at the Schuetze Recreation Center. Trudy enjoyed reading, sodoku, bingo, playing the piano and watching the Green Bay Packers. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, which was the most important thing in her life.
Trudy is survived by her loving daughter, Marilyn I. (Bradley J.) Johnston of Pewaukee; grandchildren, Troy Bradley (Karen) Johnston, Timothy Scott Johnston and Christina Elaine (Zach) Susic; and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn R.
Johnston, Paige A. Johnston, Tyler J. Susic and Levi J. Susic. Trudy is further survived by a niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Martha Heinsius; husband, Samuel Hart; two brothers, Eugene and Pastor Herman Heinsius; and one sister, Dorothy Heinsius.
The visitation for Trudy will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 2:00 p.m.
until the 4:00 p.m. funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
