Kimberly Sue Walker, 44, passed away on February 21, 2014, at her home in Fitchburg.

She was the loving daughter of Mary and the late Patrick Walker and beloved mother to Ian Fisher of Portage.

Kimberly is further survived by her brother, James of Oconomowoc; special niece, Sophia; special nephew, Jacob Walker of Oconomowoc; special aunt, Mary Roberts; special cousins, Robin (Bob) Maganini, Victoria (Larry) Vivota, all of Illinois, Becky (Barry) Davis of Boca Raton, Don (Kathy) Roberts of Arizona, Mandy, Michelle, Patrick and Dan; along with many extended family members and friends.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Patrick; a special uncle, Mick Roberts; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Kimberly was born April 20, 1969, and graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1987. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1991 with a degree in business and art and attended Edgewood College in Madison to work on her master’s degree in art therapy.

Kimberly owned and operated three preschool daycare centers in DeForest, Windsor and the Indigo Pre-School and Day Care Center in Fitchburg. She currently worked for the Veterans Administration in Madison, helping returning veterans obtain their benefits.

Kimberly loved life and lived it fully during her short lifetime. She traveled, enjoyed outdoor sports all year round, not letting any grass grow beneath her feet. She was a lover of the arts and was an excellent painter, sculptor and potter and was an excellent photographer.

A private memorial service for Kimberly will be be held.

Donations in Kimberly’s name can be made to the St. Jerome’s Scholarship Fund or the Edgewood College Art Scholarship Fund.

Kim will be very much missed by her family.
