Nile Newby of Waukesha, surrounded by family and friends at the time of his death, went to heaven Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the age of 67. Nile was born in Waukesha on Aug. 16, 1946, the son of Claude and Gladys (nee Behlke) Newby.
He was employed at the Waukesha Freeman as a printing press operator and also had a long tenure at the Waukesha Foundry. Nile loved people and got no greater joy out of life than making others smile and laugh. He enjoyed following the White Sox, Brewers, Badgers, Bucks and Packers. Nile had a passion and talent for karaoke. His infectious personality and outsized sense of humor will be missed by all.
Nile is survived by his children, Nathaniel (Nicole) and Matthew, and stepchildren, Julie Klietz, Jennifer Bradley (Steve) and Jason Klietz (Carlotta). Nile will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Zachary, Abigail, Arabella and Rose. He is further survived by brothers, Cal (Margaret) and Guy, and his sisters, Veronica and Laurie Koeberl. He is also loved by nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Nile was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia; parents; and sister, Jan.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, at 11 a.m. on March 29. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 29 at the Lincoln Pub, 512 Lincoln Ave., Waukesha.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Waukesha Purity Dialysis Center for the outstanding level of care they have shown our father over the last 12 years. We are also grateful for the compassion and professionalism shown by the Seasons Hospice staff during Nile’s stay there.
