Richard A. Zach

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Zach announces his passing after a short bout with cancer on March 18, 2014, at the age of 76.

Dick will be remembered by his wife of 50 years, Pat, and his children, Bill, Matt, Paul and Nicole. He was a proud grandpa to Shane, Jake, Julia, Jesse, Noah, Morgan, Lauren, Zach and Troy, and they love and will miss him very much.

A professional land surveyor/ land developer/home builder, a self-made man for over 35 years, he left his mark all over southeastern Wisconsin, including many years of work for the Archdiocese, preserving the land that many of the churches, schools and cemeteries in the Milwaukee-metro area rest on. He worked on many of the areas well-featured monuments like the Milwaukee deep tunnel project, local ski/sledding hills, the roads we walk on, the utilities we use, the lots we park on, subdivisions we reside in, the beautiful homes some of us live in and much more where all touched by him.

His love for family spurred his hard work ethic into what later became known as “the cabin,” a beautiful home in Vilas County (Trout Lake), where he taught his children and grandchildren not only the work ethic behind extreme remodeling and additions, but his true loves to hunt, fish, swim, navigate the woods, split wood, golf and love for life with all his heart. Always the provider, he came second to everyone close to him.

He is also loved by many friends and relatives and he will be missed by all. Our wish is to for those who want to leave memorials to do so for American Heart Association, Wisconsin Chapter.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27, at St. Anthony on the Lake, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave. (Highway SS), Pewaukee, WI 53072. Visitation will be at 9:00 AM until time of Mass at church.

Yonke and Son Funeral Home, 691-1900, is serving the family.
