Mary K. Berg

May 4, 1928 – April 24, 2014

Former Oconomowoc resident Mary Kathryn Weix Webber Berg, 85, passed away April 24, 2014, at her residence in Huntsville, Ala.

Mary was born May 4, 1928, in Oconomowoc, to Leo and Dorathy (Smith) Weix. She married Samuel R. Webber Jr. in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1974. In 1981, she married the late Edwin R. “Bob” Berg.

Mary attended Stevens College in Columbia, Mo., The Garland School in Boston, Mass., and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a talented and creative seamstress, an avid gardener and loved to travel.

Surviving her are her four children: Margaret “Meg” (Joe) Manning of Huntsville, Ala., Peter Webber of Okauchee, Keith “KC” (Megan) Webber of Yakima, Wash., and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Webber of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five stepchildren: Diana Berg of Denver, Colo., Rosemary (Joseph) Girard Bieker of Boulder, Colo., Stephen (Jolene) Berg of Bettendorf, Iowa, Ellen (Dennis) Batchelor of Longmont, Colo., and Timothy “TQ” (Leslie) Berg of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Manning of Huntsville, Christopher “CJ” Manning of Memphis, Tenn., and Samuel Webber of Yakima, Wash.; one great-grandson, Joseph Manning of Memphis, Tenn.; and five step-granddaughters: Savannah Thompson Berg of Denver, Jessica Berg and Kelly Berg, both of Iowa, and Xelli and Decca Berg, both of Seattle, Wash. Also surviving is Mary’s sister, Dorothy “Dody” Weix Tobler of Ann Arbor, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Weix in 1985.

Mary’s generosity and kindness, her wacky sense of humor and her love for her family and many friends will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Oakbridge Terrace, Home Instead Senior Care and Hospice Family Care of Huntsville for their love and support.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc, from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM.
