Emmett Sjoberg, 72, of Oconomowoc, passed away on his birthday, May 4, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Emmett is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Sjoberg (Nieth); his children, Jim (Gina) Sjoberg of Oconomowoc and Lynn (Dan) Bitney of Oak Creek; and his four grandchildren, Jennifer “Jenny” (Andrew) Mulcrone, James “Jimmy” Sjoberg Jr., Jessica “Jessie” Sjoberg and Ryan Bitney. He is further survived by two great-grandsons, Ascher and Noah Emmett “the little red head” Mulcrone, and siblings, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents, Arvin and Bertha Sjoberg; a grandson, Christopher Bitney; and two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service for Emmett will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 11:00 AM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 9:00 AM, all to take place at Zion Episcopal, 135 Rockwell Place, Oconomowoc, with a burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Zion Episcopal.
Emmett started his company, Sjoberg Tool, in 1975 and through the years with his hard work and effort grew the company to what it is today. His son Jim will continue to run the company in his memory.
Emmett enjoyed traveling with his family and friends.
He liked hunting at his Waupaca forty and enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan and in Canada. He was an avid sports fan of the Brewers, Packers and Bucks. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was a quiet, generous man, who was strong in his faith throughout his life. He will truly be missed by his family, friends, employees and everyone that knew and loved him.
