He was a 1937 graduate of Waukesha High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army earning a Bronze Star during WWII as an armed force radio operator in the 6th Armored Division. Art had been a longtime member of First Congregational Church of Genesee UCC and was a member of the Genesee Depot VFW Post #5270. He was a true mechanic and loved fixing things. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and will always be remembered as a loving dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and brother.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Karen (Dominic) Frinzi of Palmyra, Wendy Kohlhaas of Waukesha, Bryan Kohlhaas of Delafield, Penny (Mike) Fosholdt of Palmyra and Heidi (Tom) Schoknecht of Delafield, and their mother, Monica Knuth of Waukesha; his stepchildren, Robert (Betty) Schomer of Oconomowoc, Diane (Michael) Mann of Las Vegas, Nancy (Dick) Moon of Waukesha, Mary (James) Mitchell of Waukesha and Susan (Brian) Lenard of Waukesha.
