Lori Lynn Long

Lori Lynn Long, age 46, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at her parents’ home in Arkdale. Lori was born November 5, 1967, in Winona, Minnesota, to Kenneth R. and Margaret L. (Sorensen) Long. She grew up in Mukwonago with her parents and brothers. Lori graduated from Mukwonago High School and later earned her associate’s degree from Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids. She held several positions in both the real estate and banking industries, but there was no job she wouldn’t work for the betterment of her children.

Lori lived for the time spent with her children, nieces, nephews, and her grandson. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She adored animals. She enjoyed hobbies such as photography, gardening, pottery, crafts, riding motorcycles, and exploring the natural world around her.

Lori was modest and selfless. She lived in the moment and her happiness was derived from the time spent with her loved ones and the joy she could bring them. She was the source of an unwavering love, endless generosity and an infallible gumption. She is an inspiration to her family and her virtues will be carried forward by her children. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten.

Survivors include her daughter, Niki Reichel of Wisconsin Rapids; sons, Jacob Reichel of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jesse Sheldon of Wisconsin Rapids; grandson, Gage Rudolph of Waukesha; brothers, Christopher Long of Delafield and Kenneth (Laura) Long of Delafield; nephews, Andrew Long of Whitewater, Matthew Long of Whitewater, Luke Long of Delafield, Mark Long of Delafield and Jayden Long of Dousman; niece, Hannah Long of Whitewater; grandmother, Maxine Johnson of Blair; and her parents, Kenneth and Margaret Long of Arkdale.

Lori was preceded in death by her brother Andrew Long.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship. The Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
