Kay ‘Kathleen’ Martin (nee Scully)


Kay “Kathleen” Martin (nee Scully), formerly of Waukesha, passed away on May 20, 2014, near Austin, Texas.

She was a public health nurse at the Waukesha County Health Department until her retirement in 1984 and a member of St. Mary’s parish.

Born to Minnie and William Russell Scully in Orange, Mass., she grew up in Chicago.

She earned her BSN and PHN at Loyola University.

Kay served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

She married James (Allen) Martin of Milwaukee in 1953. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Joseph, and brother- in-law Frank Lindl of Madison.

She is survived by children William (Laurel) and Jean (Douglas Ashworth) of Austin, Texas, and Paul (Jane) of Waukesha; grandchildren Clair, Joseph, Gregory, Keely and Graham; and sister-in-law Margo Lindl of Madison.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for May 29 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Helen Catholic School or to SERTOMA of Georgetown.
