Joseph L. Baran
April 20, 1922 – May 20, 2014
Rev. Joseph L. Baran was born to eternal life on May 20, 2014, at the age of 92.
He was the fond uncle of Camille (Ronald) Labinski, James, Donald (Patricia), Gerald (Sue) Loeffler and Albert (Karen) Koltunski. He is also remembered by other family, friends and former parishioners.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Matilda Baran; his sisters, Gertrude Loeffler, Elynor Baran and Alice Koltunski; niece, Cecile Vazquez; and his nephews, Rupert Jr., Lawrence, Kenneth and Mathew.
He was ordained on June 7, 1947, by the Most Rev. Moses Kiley at the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist. Fr. Baran began his priestly ministry as a curate at Holy Family Parish, Cudahy, St. Joseph Parish, West Allis and then St. Stanislaus Parish, Racine. Fr. Baran served as pastor at St. Wenceslaus, Ripon and St. lare, Wind Lake. He retired from active ministry on Jan.12, 1996.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Fr. Baran at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 28, at St. Joseph Church, 12130 W. Center St., Wauwatosa. A visitation will precede Mass starting at 10 AM. Private burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Memorials in Fr. Baran’s memory maybe given to any Catholic charity.
