Marion ‘Mimi’ Cooley-Foss

June 9, 1926 – May 26, 2014

Marion “Mimi” Cooley-Foss left this life and ascended to heaven on May 26, 2014, following a brief stay at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. She was born Marion Rose Rucci on June 9, 1926, in Waukesha, to the late Sam and Rose Rucci.

She is survived by her sons (and proudest accomplishments) Timothy and Andrew Cooley; and her husband, John Foss, and his children Nancy (Dennis) Panawash, Carrie Foss, Mary Jo Foss and Patrick (Tracy) Foss, and grandchildren Katie and Kristin Panawash and Jason Foss. She is also survived by her brothers Dr. Paul (Elena) Rucci and Joseph (Barbara) Rucci, as well as her nieces and nephews: Margaret Rucci Delapaz, Steven Rucci, Catherine (Ron) Nelson, Peter (Linda) Rucci, Robert Rucci, Thomas Rucci and John (Alesha) Rucci. In addition, she is also survived by her loving cousins and sisters at heart, Theresa (Lou) Pierro and Marietta (Roy) Wolf; as well as her aunt Mickey Clifton; numerous great nieces and nephews; and many, many caring and loving friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Cooley, colonel U.S. Air Force (Ret.), also from Waukesha.

Marion had so many beautiful qualities that the list would fill these pages. But the one thing that epitomized Marion was the way in which she made everyone feel so very special and loved! Marion was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Congregation in Genesee Depot, the Waukesha Service Club, Beacon Lights, Variety Club Int., Children’s Charities, YWCA, Christmas Clearing Council and AnglesGrace Hospice. Before retirement, Marion was an administrator at Colonial Manor Health Care of Madison and the Jerry L. Pettis VA Hospital at Loma Linda, Calif.

Marion’s family greatly appreciates and thanks all the friends and family who showed their love over the past two years as she battled cancer, especially the staff of ProHealth Cancer Center and Hospice Services and AngelsGrace Hospice, who showed such skill and sensitivity to make her final days comfortable and peaceful.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, from 2PM until Mass of Christian Burial at 4PM, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, S38-W31602 County Road D, Genesee Depot, WI (corner of highways D and 83).

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul’s Church of Genesee Depot and Waukesha Service Club – Family Assistance Program would be appreciated.

Church and Chapel Funeral Home is serving the family. For more information, call 827-0659 or visit www.churchandchapel.com to view the online obituary or leave condolences.
