Frances ‘Fannie’ A. Davies
June 14, 1909 Nov. 7, 2014

Frances “Fannie” A. Davies of Waukesha died on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Oakhill Terrace at the age of 105. She was born in Juneau on June 14, 1909, the daughter of Theodore and Amelia (nee Friedrich) Meckelberg. Following high school, Fannie attended the Wisconsin Business Academy in Milwaukee but her pride and joy was being a homemaker. She loved rug hooking and made many rugs for her family and was an excellent bread maker. Fannie enjoyed swimming and did so until she was age 91, loved polka music, square dancing and playing bridge. She was a longtime and active member of First Presbyterian Church.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Maryon Wiesenthal of Waukesha and her daughter-in-law Jacqueline Davies of Marcellus, N.Y. She was the dear grandmother of Susan (Martin) Wegman, Sara (Ron Evans) Davies, Rebecca Lawson, Rachel (Mark) Pederson, Barbara (Michael) Sprecher, Ward Wiesenthal, and Laurie (Glenn) Fischer along with nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Davies; her son Richard Davies on October 31, 2014; her daughters Barbara Elaine Davies and Jane Ann Davies; and her sister Sylvia Grossman.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Springhouse at Oakhill Terrace and to Vitas Hospice for their care, compassion and kindness provided to Frances and their family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:30AM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. The Rev. Nicole Farley will preside. Graveside services will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
