Minnie L. ‘Min’ Simon

Minnie L. “Min” Simon (nee Lombardi) was born to life on June 28, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Mary Lombardi. She was born to eternal life on November 7, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Cpt. Ret. Francis; her beloved son, David; and her dear sister Josephine (Robert) Kuhlka.
She is survived by her son Bruce (Sue) Simon of Oshkosh and daughter Karen (Mark) Zanio of Brookfield. Also surviving are her sisters Dorothy (Everett) Hunkins of Necedah, Toni (Lynn) Zeller and Mel (Bill) Condon, both of Waukesha, and Betty (Dennis) Bourgoin of Arlington Heights, Ill.
She enjoyed the love and kindness of her grandchildren Amanda (Colin) Wagner of Sussex, Allison (Martin) Schreiber of Chicago, Scott and Sara Zanio of Brookfield, and her adorable great-grandchildren Carver and Makena Wagner. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She enjoyed gardening and had a great love for shopping. Throughout her life, she was extremely dedicated to her family, being a caregiver for many years for her loving husband, Francis, and beloved son David, both having disabilities. She always said that her strong faith gave her incredible strength and that the special joys in her life during that difficult time were her loving grandchildren and family and extended family and friends.
She was a resident of Elm Grove for over 50 years. She was a St. Mary’s parishioner and member of the Christian Women’s Society. She will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield, on Thursday, November 13, from 4-7PM. Additional visitation will be held at St. Mary Visitation Parish, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove, on Friday, November 14, from 10 to 10:45 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
