Josephine B. Robinson
Dec. 16, 1919 — Nov. 9, 2014
Josephine B. Robinson of Waukesha passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. She was born on Dec. 16, 1919, in Desoto Township, Ind., the daughter of Joseph and Roxie Blakley. Josephine was the second of four children. She married the love of her life, Frederick Robinson, in January of 1942.
Josephine was a great storyteller, interested in the arts, played at civic theaters, she was an accomplished pianist, enjoyed painting and was an excellent baker; her specialty was strawberry rhubarb pie. Education was important to Josephine, and she was always inspiring young people to further their education. She was a founding member of a local mothers club, and was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society over the years. Josephine made many friends when she lived at Brookfield Woods and at Waukesha Springs. And she was a delightful, caring person. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Mary-Lynn Robinson of Brookfield and Carla Jo Stanard of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Matthew Watters, William Stanard, Geoffrey Watters and Robert Seth Watters; great-grandchildren, Sam, Jackson, Franklin, Nolan and Aiden Watters; and other family and friends in central Indiana. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Carlisle Robinson; and siblings Walter and Robert Blakley and Betty McFarland.
Services for Josephine will be held at a later date at Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie, Ind., around the time of her birthday. Memorials in Josephine’s name are appreciated to any community musical groups or artistic endeavors.
