OCONOMOWOC

James Charles Cochrane Jr.

Oct. 25, 1954 - Oct. 1, 2014

James (Jimmy) Cochrane passed away on October 1, 2014, of a brief illness. He was the son of James C. and Dorothy (nee Rhodee) Cochrane. Jimmy was born, raised and lived in Oconomowoc his entire life.

His lifelong hobby of collecting miniature trains, HO gauge as an adult and Lionel O27gauge with his dad, led to many train layouts in the basement of the family home, under many Christmas trees and at a local business. Throughout his life he had a fascination with car engines having “souped-up” and rebuilt many with friends. Jimmy also liked dining out, going from restaurant to restaurant in the area - someone always had a fresh cup of coffee brewing and a good daily special. Having grown up in the restaurant business (J.C.’s), he enjoyed cooking and was known for his schaum torte with fresh strawberries. In his younger years, he loved to ride his Fat Bob Harley in the summer and his Arctic Cat snowmobile in the winter. He also enjoyed going fishing.

Jimmy will be sorely missed by his beloved friends, Kathy and David Grassnickle and their children Adam and Cassie, friend Mary Hofmeister, sister Charlene Binney, niece Kristina (Andrew) Nelson, and nephew William Binney Jr., as well as other relatives and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, younger sister Lora Mae Cochrane, and brother-in-law William R. Binney, Sr.

A very special thank you is extended to the ICU staff at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Jimmy.

Charitable donations in Jimmy’s name can be made to the Lions Club or the charity of your choice.

Per Jimmy’s wishes, there will be no services.
