Burton ‘Burt’ J. PfeiferBurton “Burt” J. Pfeifer, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Care-Age of Brookfield at the age of 91. He was born in Waukesha on Sept. 25, 1923, the son of Ervin and Clara Pfeifer.

In his earlier years, he was neighbors with Les Paul, who would play the piano in their home on St. Paul Avenue. Burt married the love of his life, Earlene, on January 5, 1952, then started their family in Waukesha. He worked his entire career at Waukesha Cutting Tool, which eventually became Walter Waukesha for over 49 years until his retirement. Burt made the tools for the Three Mile Island rebuild. He was a devout Catholic and loved his animals, but was most passionate about his family, especially his two grandsons.

Burt will be deeply missed by his children, Kurt (Lynn), and their two children, Kyle and Ryan, Kim Pfeifer and Kevin (Sue), all of Waukesha; his niece, Cindy (Don) Jansta; and nephew, Bill Beeheim. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Earlene; his sister, Phyllis (nee Pfeifer); and brother-in–law, Robert Beeheim.

The visitation for Burt will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12 noon funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Jose Nieto will officiate. Private burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, 701 Northview Road, Waukesha, WI 53188; and St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.
