Florence E. Domecki

Florence E. Domecki (nee Kaiser) of Pewaukee was born to eternal life Friday, October 24, 2014, at the age of 96 years.

She was the loving wife for over 72 years of Bernard “Bernie” Domecki; beloved mother of Judy (Robert) Doyle and her son the Late Bernie Jr.; fond sister of Marianne Prasser, Isabelle Kaiser and Annette (Edwin) Miller; dear mother-in-law of Luci Domecki; proud grandmother of six grandchildren and great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

Florence and her husband, Bernie, bought a small tavern in Pewaukee in 1941, which they named Bernie’s Tap and ran it together side by side for 47 years before selling it in 1988. She was well-known for her delicious burgers and meatloaf, which was used in the popular “Bernie’s Big Loaf” sandwich. But her specialty was her homemade soups and always tried to offer at least two different soups every day.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 30, at St. Anthony on the Lake, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave. (Highway SS), City of Pewaukee. Father Tony Zimmer will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at church. Private entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
