Charlotte Marie Krygier (nee Wolf)
March 25, 1932 — Aug. 29, 2014
Charlotte Marie Krygier (nee Wolf) passed in the presence of her beloved husband of 51 years, James Krygier, on August 29, 2014, while on vacation in northern Wisconsin. Born on March 25, 1932, on a farm in Bloomer, Charlotte was a beloved wife, mother and friend to many.
A creative soul, she worked as a graphic artist in Los Angeles after high school, returning to Wisconsin where she married Jim on October 5, 1963.
Charlotte raised three children with Jim: John (Patricia O’Toole), Paul (Stacy) and Marie (Martin Honel) at their home in Waukesha.
Charlotte continued her artistic work throughout her life, participated in regional art shows and had craft projects published in national magazines. She passed her creative abilities and enthusiasms on to her children and grandchildren, and made a beautiful home for her family. Charlotte and Jim enjoyed traveling, hiking, spending time with family, cooking, working in their beautiful yard, reading, thinking and conversation. A kinder, gentler, happier and more loving person could not be found.
Charlotte is survived by three grandchildren, Ethan, John Riley and Annabelle, for whom she was thoughtful, caring and loved grandmother. Charlotte always understood how to reach out to and understand the interests and needs of everyone around her — she was a mother and grandmother to many.
She was the sister of Dorothy (Ron) Zimmerman, Jack (Mary) Wolf, Dan Wolf (all of Bloomer, Wisconsin) and Patty (Renny) Johns (Hot Springs, Arkansas); sister-in-law of Jane (Krygier) Jung of Wauwatosa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Wolf; mother, Mary (Seibel) Wolf; brother Gerald Wolf; and sisters Rosemary (Wolf) Joswiak and Paula (Wolf) Nerling.
Visitation will be Friday, September 5, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, from 10 AM until 11:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to support one of Charlotte’s favorite places, the Retzer Nature Center: Friends Of Retzer Nature Center, S14W28167 Madison St., Waukesha, WI 53188-9501, (262-896-8007).
