Gregory B. O'NeilOn the afternoon of August 16, 2014, Greg O’Neil passed away at Alexian Village in Milwaukee at the age of 60. Greg was born in Waukesha on May 4, 1954, the youngest of four children born to Ralph and Eleanor O’Neil.

Greg grew up at Eagle Springs Lake in Waukesha County and enjoyed an adventure filled childhood spending his time catching turtles, fishing, swimming and in general enjoying a wonderful life with family and close friends.

Greg attended WCTI for business and later worked for many years at Lakritz & Pikus Furs as a furrier in Milwaukee. Greg enjoyed golfing, Texas Hold-Em and going to the horse races. He especially enjoyed several trips to the Kentucky Derby. Greg was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many and could always be counted on to provide just the right touch of wry humor.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Ralph O’Neil, and mother, Eleanor O’Neil.

Greg is survived by his brother, Dennis (Butch) O’Neil of Genesee; sister-inlaw, Donna O’Neil of Genesee; sister, Inez O’Neil of Oshkosh; sister, Peggy O’Neil (Kirk) of Mount Morris; and nieces and nephews, Lisa Antikainen, Laurie Velleman (Gary), Ryan O’Neil, Brian Burdick (Michelle), Amber Nickolai (Kevin), Sam Velleman, Jonathon Wahoviak, Ashley Velleman, Sean O’Neil, Kasey O’Neil, Logan Michael, Brandon Burdick, Joseph Wahoviak and Montez Velleman.

He is also survived by many wonderful friends who for sure have good stories and great memories of times spent together.

There will be an outdoor memorial at Eagleville School, S101-W34511 Highway LO, Eagle, on Saturday, September 13, at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to LifeStriders of Waukesha, S11-W29667 Summit Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53188.

Thanks to Sue Pacey, Greg was able to achieve an item on his bucket list and rode and came to love “Red,” a therapeutic horse at LifeStriders.
