Marguerite Ryan (nee Sullivan) ‘Sis,’ ‘Marge’
While surrounded by her husband of 65 years, Edward, and family and friends, Marge passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at age 88. She was the cherished mother of Lynn, Patricia and Edward lll; precious grandmother of Kristin (Dave) Keil and Beth Hannon; and great-grandmother of Jacob, Rachel and Zack Keil. She is further survived by loving family and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Jack and Joe Sullivan.
Born and raised on the East side of Milwaukee, Sis attended Holy Rosary grade school, Holy Angels Academy ’44, and St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing ’47. After working at Milwaukee Children’s Hospital, Sis and Ned married and raised their family in Whitefish Bay before moving to Oconomowoc.
Her volunteer activities were numerous, including medical clinic advocacy, genealogy, prairie restoration and community historical societies.
Marguerite and Edward just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 20th! Together they shared a life of love, fun and adventure. His strength, confidence and selflessness live on. She will be missed beyond measure.
Marguerite’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, September 19, at St. Bruno Catholic Church, 226 W. Ottawa Ave., Dousman, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00, and a light luncheon at noon.
As per her wishes, Marguerite was cremated. A private committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee, on a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bruno Parish or Goodwill.
