Carol Ann Papineau (Neubauer)

Carol A. Papineau, 59, of Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 20, 2014, at her home. Carol was born December 16, 1954, in Waukesha, the daughter of Philip and Phyllis Neubauer.
After graduating from Waukesha South High School in 1972, she enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1974 and proudly served as a specialist until 1977. After leaving the Army, she received an associate’s degree in early childhood from Central Texas University. She was the director of many daycare centers, including Tanaina and Gloria Dei Childcare centers in Anchorage, Alaska, as well as Noah’s Arc, Marquette University and Bright Horizons in Wisconsin. After she moved to the Marshfield area, she worked as an insurance agent and then as a supervisor at Figi’s before retiring in 2012.
Carol is survived by her parents, Philip and Phyllis Neubauer of Pewaukee, and was the loving mother to her sons Beckett Andrew Neubauer Johnson and Jacob Philip Neubauer Johnson and grandmother of Jacob’s daughters Olive Moon Spohnholz-Johnson and Vega Elise Johnson. Carol is also survived by her sisters Nancy Neubauer of New York and Peggy (Todd) Stair of Waukesha, as well as her nephew Kyle Stair and niece Hannah Stair, both of Waukesha. Carol was also survived by her fiancé, James Hennes of Marshfield, and his children.
Carol will be missed by her family as well as her many friends and co-workers.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held Saturday, September 27, from noon to 2 pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Cloninger Hall, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to her children would be appreciated.
