Gary A. LaCombe

April 28, 1953 — Aug. 26, 2014

Gary A. LaCombeGary A. LaCombe, born April 28, 1953, began his eternal life with our heavenly father on August 26, 2014, at AngelsGrace Hospice, Oconomowoc.

Gary was a graduate of Oconomowoc High School, Class of 1971. He was always a hard worker and a Jack of all trades — from his first jobs as a gas station attendant and furniture mover to a career at Custom Products Corporation that spanned almost 15 years as a machinist and supervisor. Later in life he would become a rough carpenter, a carrier for a messenger service and a sales representative for Amsoil. He fulfilled his passion for cars and racing by becoming a pit crew member of the JAMCO race team. He was a true lover of music, nature, family and friends.

An extremely spiritual man, Gary was active in many different churches throughout his life. In 1982, he was baptized and also ran the sound for the Alliance Bible Church (NKA Cross Point Church). Eventually, he became a deacon at Overcomers Temple and took great pride in being referred to as “Deacon Gary.”

Gary is survived by one older brother, James (Connie) LaCombe; two children, Christopher (Erin) LaCombe and Michelle (Brad Lurvey) LaCombe; two grandsons, Denver Ossmann and Preston Hietpas; and one granddaughter, Ella Foltz. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, Nona (Pat) Leslie, Tim (Julie) LaCombe, Mark LaCombe, Mike (Kim) LaCombe, Steve (Dawn) LaCombe, Katie (Craig) Godfroy, Cheryl LaCombe of South Carolina and Terri (Mike) Shelton of North Carolina, and their mother, Marie Lacombe also of Carolina; 18 great-nieces-andnephews; and four great-great-nieces-and-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul A and Margaret A LaCombe, and one older brother, Dennis LaCombe of S. Carolina.

The family will be having a small memorial service at Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia, on Saturday, September 27, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Chris LaCombe, 617 Cole St., Watertown, WI 53094, to help with expenses.
