Nick Carenen

June 8, 1960 — Sept. 17, 2014

Nick Carenen was taken too soon from us, but found peace at AngelsGrace Hospice at age 54 on September 17, 2014, surrounded by family and friends.

He was the beloved soul mate of Annie Jorgenson for 10 years; proud father of Isabella Brooke Carenen; world’s greatest step-dad to Adrianna Jorgenson-Santosus; son of the late Paul Carenen and Georgeann (Heller) Gossett and the late Al Gossett; brother of Paul “P.J.” Carenen (Karen) and Lisa (Carenen) Dunn and the late Stan Dunn; and uncle to Danielle and Robbi Carenen, and Gabrille, Aiden and Jacob Dunn. Nick leaves behind many family and friends.

Nick was a sports enthusiast. He would watch any and all sports. Nick was an extreme joker. He loved to make everyone laugh. He brought a smile to everyone’s face. Nick had an avid love for chihuahuas (ha-ha) ... but he did love his babies Lucy and Bear.

Nick was the caretaker of the family. Family always came first. He was the light of Annie’s life, her best friend, her soul mate. Her everything. Our hearts are broken, but we know he rests in God’s arms and feels no more pain. The world will be missing a kind, caring, sweet and compassionate man.

Visitation will be at the Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 S. Cross St., Oconomowoc, on Tuesday, September 3, from 4pm to 7pm, with a celebration of life service following.

As an avid sports fan, we request you to wear any sports apparel or — true to Nick’s nature — fleece and flip flops.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Nick’s significant other, Annie Jorgenson, to help with funeral expenses.

Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm- Kreutzmann Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. For more information, call 262-567-4459 or visit online at www.schmidtandbartelt.com.
