LuAnn Heying (nee Nelson), age 69, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2015, at her residence. LuAnn was born on August 20, 1945, in Waukesha, the daughter of Fred A. and Gwendolyn (Bender) Nelson. She graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1963. She married Bernard J. Heying on July 22, 1978, in Waukesha. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper, accounts payable/receivables. In her retirement she loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching TV, playing cards and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
LuAnn is survived by her son, Jerry (Jennifer) Cook and children, Zach, Hunter and Aubree of Appleton; daughter, Shaun (Bill) Tofson and children Brennen and Paige of Wisconsin Dells; step-son, Daniel Heying of Waukesha; sisters, Leona (Reinhold) Weber of Florida and Lynn (Dan) Baron of Missouri; sister-in-law, Mary Nelson Wirth of Wisconsin; as well as many dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; brother, Fred Nelson; and sisters, Lillian Lauber and Beverly Duve.
Services will be held on Monday, January 12, at 1:00 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells with Pastor Steven Keller officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
