Rolland ‘Rollie’ Barrett

Rolland “Rollie” Barrett, age 86, of Eagle, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Seasons Hospice in Waukesha.
Rollie was born in Forsyth Township, Mich., on November 26, 1928 the son of the late Harold and Helen (Jensen) Barrett. He married Virginia Gregg on November 4, 1955. Rollie started working as a lumberjack in the UP, and then went to work for Evinrude Motors retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed selling goods at flea markets, bowling, and traveling throughout the country.
He was the beloved husband of Virginia; dear father of Deb Karbowski, Sandra Yanda, Gail (Jeff) Bixler, and Alan (Joanne) Barrett; cherished grandfather of Scott (Roxanne), Brian (Kryssie), Kevin (Ashley) Karbowski; Richard (Lisa) and Chris Yanda; Jacob, Anna and Rachel Bixler, Alex, Kali and Brandon Barrett; Jennifer (Justin Urban) and Joe (Jasmine) Slater; and great-grandfather of 5. Rollie was loved and will be remembered by other relatives and many dear friends.
Rollie was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Martonen, and brothers John, Hans, Ray, Mike, Roy, Carl, Oscar, Pat, Wayne, and infant brother Lee.
A celebration of life will be held at the Eagle United Methodist Church, 305 E. Main St., Eagle, on Saturday, January 17, at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Lawrence Turner officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” for the care and compassion Rollie received from Linden Grove Nursing Home and Seasons Hospice in Waukesha.
