Betty Greer of Wilmington, Del., formerly of Wellesley, Mass., died January, 7, 2015, at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Harrie Russell Randle and Harriet Sleep Randle of Waukesha, originally of the Randle Funeral Home, now known as Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home.
Betty was one of five Randle children, all deceased; Jane Randle Banks, John Randle, Anne Randle Waldner and William Randle. She was married to the late Robert Treadway Greer. She leaves her daughter, Kathleen Greer of Wellesley, Mass. Her daughter Barbara Greer Williams predeceased her. She also leaves her two grandsons, John Robert Napoleone and Russell Vaughan Williams, and four great-grandsons, John Benjamin Napoleone, Michael Timothy Napoleone, Luke Russell Williams and Samuel Robert Williams, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Betty was raised in Waukesha before attending Oberlin College as an art history major. She married her late husband after graduation from Oberlin and they later moved to Schenectady, N.Y., and Wellesley, Mass. She relocated to the Methodist Country House in Wilmington in 1998.
Betty was an avid gardener, bridge player, seamstress and craft person. She was fiercely independent and had a great sense of humor. She was a good friend to many people throughout her life.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 10, in the Danby Chapel at the Methodist Country House, 4830 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807. A reception followed the service in the Delaware Lounge.
