James L. Ripplinger

James L. Ripplinger of Waukesha found peace with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the age of 77 years. James was born in Chicago on May 27, 1937, a son of Edwin and Clara Ripplinger.
He married the love of his life, Sandra Dillman, on June 13, 1959. James was a proud volunteer firefighter for the South Chicago Heights Fire Department, served as a city of Waukesha alderman for 11 years, and was an active member of St. William Catholic Church, Waukesha. He retired from AT&T after 37 years of service. James enjoyed golfing, roller skating, watching baseball, fishing, attending his family’s sporting events, and working on projects. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
James will be dearly missed by his wife, Sandra; children, David (Laurie) Ripplinger, Brian (Brenda) Ripplinger and Renee (Steve) Knoll; grandchildren, Kayla (Josh) Shimel, Kristen (John Cagadas) Ripplinger, Taylor Ripplinger, William Ripplinger, Matthew (Jesse Meehean) Ripplinger, Raymond Ripplinger, Brandon Ripplinger, Emma Knoll, and Jacob Knoll; great-grandchildren, Callie, Carter, Mason and Chase; siblings, Sister William Christine, Frances Swick and Charles Ripplinger.
James is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua; parents; and brothers, Edwin Ripplinger Jr. and Erwin Ripplinger.
The first visitation for James will be held on Friday, January 16, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, from 9:30 a.m.
to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home (see address above).
A procession will immediately follow to St. William Catholic Church, 440 N.
Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188, for the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery following Mass.
