Glenn Burton Christenson passed away on January 6, 2015 in Grass Valley, Calif., at the age of 68. He was born on May 22, 1946, in Hartford, to Burton and Ruby (nee Connell) Christenson. Glenn was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an equipment operator in the Seabees. He moved to Penn Valley, Calif., in 1978 to raise his family. Glenn was a humble, quiet man, who took great pride in maintaining his ranch, and helping others whether it be fixing their equipment or mowing their lawns. He also enjoyed gold prospecting and watching auto racing.
Having lived in California for 43 years, it is his family’s wishes to return him to his home in Wisconsin to be with his family.
He is survived by his two children, Jenelle Green (Edgar) of Marysville, Calif., and Mark Christenson (Ronelle) of Neosho; his former spouse, Jeanne Tennies-Christenson of Smartsville, Calif.; and his five grandchildren, Keven, Patrisha, Kassandra, Tyler and Caylyn.
Visitation will be held January 17, at St. Olaf’s Church, W653 Roosevelt Road, Rubicon, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
