Marilyn J. (Erickson) Fortlage

Mrs. Marilyn J. (Erickson) Fortlage, 83, of Stone Bank Road, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc. She was born in Oconomowoc on February 22, 1931, daughter of the late Hurby and Edna (Swenson) Erickson.

She attended Oconomowoc High School graduating in 1949, she then went on to receive her bachelorís degree in business administration from Carroll College in Waukesha in 1953. She was an accomplished singer performing with the Swanton Twin Trio in college. She devoted her life to raising her family and caring for her parents. She took great pride in maintaining the legacy of the family farm in Stone Bank established by her grandfather, Halvor Erickson, in 1879.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul C. Fortlage, whom she married on June 13, 1953, and her brother Robert Erickson.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Pamela Fortlage- Gold of Lanesborough, Ma., and Mary Hanson and her husband Jim of Stone Bank; her sons Eric Fortlage and his wife Kathy of Ashippun, and Peter Fortlage of Madison; her grandsons Nick Pinnt of Lake Geneva, Jacob Gold of Lanesborough, Ma.; and her granddaughters Elizabeth McCoy (Andy McCoy) of Arlington, Va., Maggie Pinnt of Greenfield, and Erika Fortlage of Ashippun.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the nurses, doctors and all who contributed to our motherís comfort at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.

There was a celebration of life held in the Parish Hall of St. Anskarís Epsicopal Church in Hartland on Saturday, January 31.

Committal service was held at Holy Innocents Cemetery in Nashotah on Sunday, February 1.
