Earl F. Carter

Earl F. Carter, age 91, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at UW Health Partners, Watertown Regional Medical Center. Earl Francis Carter was born on July 15, 1923, in Town of Rockland, DePere, the son of Earl and Ethel (Van Dreel) Carter. He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

On June 14, 1947, he married the former Rita J. Smits in DePere, Wisconsin and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2009. Earl had been employed by the Milwaukee Journal Company, in the printing department.

Earl was a member of St. Bernardís Catholic Church and a former member of the Dousman Derby Dancer, where he and Rita spent many memorable hours, square dancing.

Earl is survived by his children Glenn Carter, Tom Carter, James (Jaclyn) Carter, Margaret (Craig) Mullen and Paul (Angelique) Carter; a son-in- law, Neil Mooers; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He is further preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Mooers; his parents; and a sister, Delores Jones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Bernardís Catholic Church with Father Scott Jablonski celebrating. Innichment will be in the parish cemetery, with military graveside rites. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bernardís Catholic Church would be appreciated.
