Joseph Frank KarpinskiJoseph Frank Karpinski, 57, of Waukesha, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by loving family members on Monday, February 16, 2015. Joe was born on May 30, 1957, to George and Helen (Rucinski) Karpinski in Milwaukee.

He grew up in Merton, where he had what he described as “the perfect childhood” having the opportunity to spend time on the lake and in the woods. He graduated from Arrowhead High School in 1975 and then attended UW-Stevens Point.

Joe worked as a carpenter, was employed for a number of years at Generac and held many other jobs throughout the years, most recently at Wal-mart Neighborhood Market as a stocker.

He loved to spend his time outside walking and especially fishing. He also enjoyed treasure hunting at garage sales and thrift stores, reading and working on crossword puzzles (in pencil). He will always be remembered for his colorful free spirit and wonderful sense of humor and on most days could be seen wearing his signature Hawaiian shirt.

Joe had a special love for animals of all kinds, and will be remembered by his family as a “Dog Whisperer.” His love of dogs was a remarkable testimony to his big heart.

Joe is survived by his mother, Helen of Waukesha; two sisters, Karen (Dale) Heber of Union Grove, Ala., and Mary (Randy) Carlson of Waukesha; and four brothers, George Jr. , Michael and Gerald, all of Waukesha, and his twin, James (Julie) of Gresham, Ore. Joe is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, and by his best four-legged friend, Ted.
