Regina Francis “Jeanne” Weiss

Regina Francis “Jeanne” Weiss found eternal peace on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the age of 77.

She was the precious wife of 50 years to Gordon E.; loving mother of Paul (Mary Esther) Weiss, Jennifer (Alex) Zenzick, Michael (Kristi Jo) Weiss and the late Annette Weiss; loving Nana to Steven, Kristina, Derek, Jonah, Annalise, Nicholas “Nicky,” Raena and a baby girl on the way; loving sister of Nicholas (Mary Ann) Alberti, Mary (Frank) Kleiman and Fran (Gary) Golembiewski. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rocco and Lena (nee Vetrano) Alberti.

Regina attended Lincoln High School in Milwaukee. In 1959, she was the first member of her family (Alberti) to complete college earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Alverno College. She taught high school math for over 20 years to many students in schools at McHenry, Ill., St. Mary Academy in Milwaukee, Oak Creek and New Berlin. She enjoyed travel, visiting Europe many times, as well as countless other destinations. Her favorite activities included sewing, bowling, crossword puzzles, watching game shows and movies and playing with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 15250 W. National Ave., New Berlin, from 4-7 PM. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 160th Street and National Avenue, New Berlin, from 9-9:45 AM, with a Mass of Christian burial 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Jeanne to Alverno College for the advancement of women in education. Teaching and mentoring was a passion of hers and she was very proud of not only her degree from Alverno, but also her support as an alumni.
